Daily Spread #1: Theme & Support

This spread is to focus your mind and use suggestions to get through stressors for the day. It could also be used for someone who is new to tarot and learning how to read intuitively. background credit: msvr @ pexels.com Theme of the Day: This card may be able to tell you the best way to look at the day, what things may come up or what excitement the universe has in store for you. Support 1 & 2: These cards may be able to give you a few strategies to keep the theme on track, or maybe some ideas to turns things around if they end up negative. As someone who is learning how to use and interpret the cards with my intuition, some questions I find myself asking is: How did my day relate to the theme card? Did I use any of the support/advice from the lower cards? How did the cards not relate to my day? This would be a great spread to journal and keep track of as you learn.

4/9/23 - One Card Draw: What should I remember or the day?

It's a holiday for a lot of people. My husband and I are going to see his family. As someone with social phobia and (undiagnosed) agoraphobia, leaving the apartment and  going to a social gathering is pretty scary and stressful.  I decided to pull a card from my Moon & Stars Tarot deck for some guidance for the day. Interesting how this card came out when I needed it, hm? Be open to all of your emotions as there is a soulmate energy around you, whether with friends, partners, or family. The booklet gives a good message. I'm not good at opening up and letting people in, even after 11 years of marriage and knowing my in-laws. My husband will be there to support me and his family have always respected by boundaries. I'm not a big hug person, not a fan of loud voices, and I don't like to start conversations.  I need to breath slowly, remind myself they care about me, and let a few bricks of my emotional wall disappear.

The Unknown, Tarot, and Inner Peace

NOTE: This post contains personal experiences with depressive episodes, feelings of shame and worthlessness, suicidal thoughts, and death.  Crisis Text Line / Help Guide This is more of post about personal thoughts related to how my head is feeling. I have yet to really talk about mental health, though, until now. The worst loneliness is to not be comfortable with yourself. - Mark Twain When I started this blog, it was right after a handful of weeks of a major depressive episode. While feeling this way, I was in a pretty serious car accident that was entirely my fault. No one was hurt, but it was a trauma that escalated a lot of things that had been building. Due to a lot of things in my past, I already had a low self-worth, major anxiety, and fear of leaving my apartment. After realizing I could have killed  someone, I felt whatever thin string was holding me up about to break. I took a day off work, knowing there was no way I could even pretend  to be okay. Thankfully,...

One Card Study: the Wheel of Fortune & Aspects of Fate

The first in a series of 78, because this is going to be for each card in the tarot deck. With this series, we are going to take a deep dive, talking about the history and mythological connections, meanings, and more. Let's take a look at... X. Wheel Of Fortune Moon & Stars Tarot / Celtic Tarot / Guilded Tarot According to Wikipedia , this card has been modeled ever since the tarot's inception in the 15th century after the medieval concept of Rota Fortunae , the wheel of the goddess Fortuna. In this post, we will talk about who Fortuna was, the aspects of fate, and words associated with the card. Who was Fortuna? In the Roman pantheon, she was the personification of Luck, which had evolved from the Greek goddess Tyche. The phrase "La [dea] fortuna รจ cieca" [Luck (goddess) is blind.] relates to some depictions of Fortuna being blindfolded. She was also the goddess of fate, which had several different aspects. Some articles suggest she was the one who connected the ...

3/29/23 - Toolkit Spread by Evvie Marin

I've had this spread on my 'to do' list for a while now. It's supposed to help you think about different ways to use your strengths in whatever situation you're asking about. I pulled the cards last night, but did not turn them over until this morning. I apologize for the terrible picture quality, my phone wasn't doing what I wanted it to do. The spread is by Evvie Marin from Interrobang Tarot . The visual (and all their work, to be honest) is very pleasing for me to look at. They have some really great spreads, as well. Social Media: Tarot Community Connections

I have decided to expand my presence in the universe through connecting to social media and maybe finding some kindred spirits. I've been on and off them, but I figure why not try once again with this niche.  Instagram: @introspectivereadings TikTok: @3decadesofawkward Tarot, Tea, & Me Forum: trivialuvs I'm thinking about making some others, but I'm not sure the best places to connect with people in this kind of community. I know in my location there is a decent amount of people interested in the metaphysical (is that a good umbrella term?), but since I am moving in three months... well, I'm not sure I want to build a personal connection. ... which sounds dumb when I write/think about it that way but it's part of my learned trauma response. ANYWAY. This is more of a personal ramble, but you can find me in those places. If you have other places that can help me reach out to like-minded people, let me know. Positive vibes to everyone!
