4/18/23 - Travel Spread by Sage's Lantern

I was surprised at how this spread turned out, mostly because of the reversals. As I shuffled to get ready to pull the cards, the Hierophant jumped to the floor out of nowhere, so of course that was the first spot. During my continued shuffling, I must have turned the deck upside down.

It's weird for me to get reversals as I make sure my cards are all in the same order before shuffling and pulling. I don't actively try to avoid reversals (subconsciously may be another story), so I was shocked when I looked at the spread.

I had to stop myself from turning them around because I didn't want to miss an important message they may be trying to tell me.

What will I experience from my trip?
What do I need to look out for during my trip?
What can I do make my trip as pleasant as possible?

We are going on a weekend trip to Salt Lake City to do some job interviews and apartment hunting this weekend. My anxiety is extremely high and negative thoughts are coming through at all times. I found a spread that helped focus my mind.

What will I experience from my trip? - The Hierophant
tradition, social groups, conventionality, conformity, education, knowledge, beliefs

What do I need to look out for during my trip? - The Emperor (reversed)
domination, excessive control, lack of discipline, inflexibility

What can I do make my trip as pleasant as possible? - Queen of Pentacles (reversed)
financial independence, self-care, work-home conflict

Introspection

I'm not sure what the Hierophant has to do with my trip, but I took a moment to research a few places to get more insight into what it could mean. Maybe my spiritual self is going to be fulfilled in some way? Maybe it has to do with sticking to what I know and sticking to my plans and not going off script, to speak

The other cards are easy for me to interpret. I have an issue with control, so I need to remember that I don't have control over everything, and I have my husband there to take some of the weight off my shoulders. I also had the thought of an ex-boyfriend I keep in touch with there, but there isn't any negative feelings between us. Not sure if that connects to it or not.

The Queen reminds me to be careful when it comes with finances and taking care of myself. I'm bound to have some anxiety attacks with the different things I'll be doing - talking to people, exploring a city I haven't been to in ten years, etc.

I think these cards are basically saying this is good and good things will happen, but some tasks may take some inner strength to face.

Positive vibes for all!
Tabitha
